How do I schedule an appointment?
Complete our consultation form to tell us a little about your gown and alteration needs, or call us. We’ll then help you arrange the appropriate appointment for your dress and timeline.
When should I schedule my first fitting?
We recommend contacting us as soon as you have your gown and wedding date. Alteration timelines vary depending on the gown, the work required, and the time of year, so scheduling early helps ensure adequate time for fittings and adjustments.
What should I bring to my first fitting?
Please bring your wedding shoes and the undergarments or shapewear you plan to wear with your gown. These can affect the length and fit of your dress and help us achieve the most accurate alterations.
How many fittings will I need?
The number of fittings depends on your gown and the alterations required. Most gowns require multiple appointments so we can carefully evaluate the fit and make adjustments as the alterations progress.
Do you provide estimates before beginning alterations?
Yes. During your fitting, we evaluate the gown, discuss your desired fit and any changes you would like, and provide an estimate based on the alterations needed.
Can you alter gowns from different bridal designers?
Yes. We work with gowns from a wide range of bridal designers and construction styles. Each gown is evaluated individually so alterations can be made while preserving its structure, detailing, and original design.
Can you make custom changes to my gown?
Yes. Depending on the gown, we can make design modifications such as custom straps, shoulder coverage, modesty panels, neckline changes, appliqué placement, and other personalized details.
Do you alter bridesmaid, mother-of-the-bride, prom, and formal gowns?
Yes. In addition to bridal gowns, we provide alterations for bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and groom, prom and pageant gowns, and other special-occasion attire.
Do you offer consultations if I’m not ready to begin alterations?
Yes. We offer a $75 consultation for clients who would like to discuss fit, alteration possibilities, or design changes before committing to alterations. If you proceed with alterations through Bloom Alteration, the $75 consultation fee is applied toward your alterations.
Do you press wedding gowns?
Yes. Wedding gown pressing is available, including day-before-wedding pressing to have your gown freshly prepared and presentation-ready for your wedding day.
Do you provide wedding-day assistance?
Yes. Wedding-day attendant service is available for brides who would like professional assistance with dressing, gown placement, the train, bustle, and other gown details on the wedding day.
What happens at my final fitting?
Your final fitting is an opportunity to review the completed alterations, confirm the fit, and address any final adjustments that may be needed before your gown goes home with you.
Who should come with me to my final fitting?
If someone will be helping you dress or bustle your gown on your wedding day, we recommend bringing them to your final appointment so they can see how everything works.
